Default Ecoboost in cold climates

Just wondering how those who live in colder climates like their EB and if there has been any complaints about it in the winter.

Friend of mine says his 11'EB Scab feels more sluggish when we have colder days as comparison to his 10' 5.4.

So interested to see if anyone else finds this to be true.

It has been -20 F here pretty much all week...my EB runs fine, I think it uses a bit more fuel when its cold but other than that I have no complaints.

It's been highs of -2 to 2 and lows to -19 the last while. I chew thru more fuel but it still runs like a champ! I wonder if I blocked some of the cold air thru the radiator a la diesel truck if my mpg would bump up to where it was...

I've seen as low as 5 with no noticeable difference in power. Engine heats up super quick...transmission takes forever!

Colder air actually makes engines run stronger. A piston airplane will climb faster in cooler air. Look it up, it's true.

Engine & cabin warm up time is longer than expected. It take far longer to generate cabin heat than any vehicle I've had in the last couple decades.

Other than that, no cold weather issues so far (-11F) yesterday am.

I'll qualify that by admitting that when it's below 0deg F, I don't stomp on the gas & see how fast I can go. I really baby the engine when it's cold.

Thanks for all of the reply's! I imagine the EB is no different than any other vehicle when the Winter rolls around as it seems like every vehicle takes a little hit in MPG. But this guy said it was quite noticeable during the past week or so especially on the cold days we just had... temps between -10 to +4 and with the windchill made it feel as low as -28 during a few of those days.

Anyone tried plugging/using there block heater over night for those cold winter morning start ups?

I bet that would make a difference in warm up time!
