Default Eco/5.0 Raptor

Is there a reason why Ford did not make the engine on the Raptor an option for the EcoBoost, or 5.0? I know the 6.2 is an outstanding engine, but personally, the 5.0 or EcoBoost would have been good in that truck too. What do you
Guys think?

Same reason the 5.0 and EB aren't in the SD. Much heavier pickup and higher rolling resistance. The 6.2 doesn't have to work as hard to move it.

I think Ford didn't offer the smaller engines because the Raptor is marketed as the biggest baddest F150 in the line up. Naturally you want the biggest baddest motor to go with it

a Raptor with an EB would be wrong.
the Raptor is for those who dont give 2 ****z about mileage, or the environment, or their neighbors

I know I'll get some grief for saying this, but I would have bought the Raptor if it came with the ecoboost. I didn't want a 6.2, and I still don't. It has nothing at all to do with mpg, I just love forced induction. Sure you can add a procharger or supercharger to a 6.2 later, but id rather have a solution that came from the factory. I think Ford would sell more Raptors if they had other engine choices.

They are/were already not able to keep up with orders so I don't think they have a problem selling Raptors...

GNX...Nuff said

The better question is, why the 6.2 and not a blown 5.0?

The 5.4 triton was put in the SD...and the EcoBoost numbers are way better than that engine...so I highly doubt it's because the EcoBoost does not have the HP or torque. I am sure Ford has their reasons but I'm willing to bet that is not one of them.
