Default EB lights 'em up!

So on the way back from the campground today (with 4 bikes in the bed and towing the 23B which is approximately 5000 lbs) I stopped at a light and was first in line and next to a 9-10-11 F150 non-EB. I thought "This would be a fun little demonstration head-to-head". After my light turned green and the courtesy pause for any red light runners had passed, I took off. Now I didn't mash it to the floor, but I didn't use a heavy amount of restraint either.

Right away the tires broke loose and made a loud squeal. I had to back off the gas pedal to regain traction and I took off like a rocket! This engine never ceases to amaze me!! It was a great conclusion to a very pleasant weekend of camping.

Wow, to bad non-ecoboost trucks can't do that.

Wow, must of had the tc off. I have a driver that did the exact thing towing a bobcat for me with my 08 350. Had to fire him after I needed to replace both axles after he twisted them. But I'm sure it looked cool.

Did you let him know you were going to race him? Drag racing (or trying to) on public streets is never a good idea, and doing it with a 5000 LB Trailer may qualify you for the TV show "Dumbest Stuff on Wheels".

My FX4 does the same thing pulling my travel trailer. If it's slightly wet look out. Big squeel and spin. If I have a little too much lift on my weight distributing hitch it gets real easy to do. You have to roll it on easy taking off while towing and traction isn't optimal conditions.
I now tend to use my 2wdr diff locker option if I know I'm gonna give er. The TC takes a few seconds to catch up in this scenario.

Yeah, I am sure the guy in the "non eco-boost" was completely impressed. I bet he immediately returned to the dealership and traded his truck in for one just like yours.

Don't listen to the trolls, they're just jealous
Us EB owners know that you didn't mean to lose traction and squeal the tires and that you are only stating that this engine never ceases to amaze.
It really is a rocket but I've had to relearn how to use a gas pedal all over again

The break down.

The title: EB lights 'em up!

From this statement we quickly deduce that at a minimum the OP was proud of the fact that he was smoking the tires while towing 5,000lbs +.

So now we have moved into the “My Eco is more powerful and can outdo your truck” rant…….again.

This translates into “I’ll show this guy, I have an ECOBOOST.”

It is quite apparent that the intent was to roast the tires. After doing so he was forced to reign in those horses. This proves that like the Dakota in the video a vehicle towing can spin the tires (at the demise of the vehicle itself).

No one is arguing that the Eco isn’t a good motor and can tow an *****load. The statements from us “Trolls” are based on the following.

  • Ego. Get over yourself
  • Spinning tires while towing =problems
  • At no point did you impress the guy (or gal) in the truck next to you. Like the guy in high school who would always do a burnout leaving the school parking lot; You are only impressing yourself.

The 3.5 Eco is a good motor and I hope you guys enjoy your truck. I have no idea why some of you feel the need to “prove” yourselves though. I know some of the 5.0 guys do the same and I have no answer for them either. I have respect for the whole line up from 3.7 NA – the 6.2. They are all good and do well for their intended purpose.

Come on
After all, we are all F150 owners.
