So.....the Wx has been getting warmer up here and I have used the A/C a couple times. I noticed that somehow, the A/C went into recirculate on it's own. The first time it happened, I thought it was odd and that maybe I had done it and forgotten.

The same thing happened again today. I started the A/C without the recirculate button on, but at some point during my drive, it went into recirculate. I don't recall this ever happening on my 2012 F150, so I'm not sure if this is just something happening to my 2014 in particular or Ford changed something with 2014 A/C systems.

On my 2013 F150 STX 5.0 when you hit the A/C button the recirculate button also lites. I believe it is set up that way. When you recirculate you are not bringing outside hot air allowing the cab to cool faster. Just turn the recirculate button off.

 

Probably fords answer to making the *****ty ac not seem as *****ty. Mine in my 12 is terrible unless I have it on recirc.

 

Yeah, I guess Ford is putting more nanny controls in the truck....my 2012 never did this. The A/C in the 2012 was terrible, but the system seems much colder in the 2014

I noticed the same thing on a recent trip; the owner's manual says it is normal to switch in and out of recirculation during operation. I don't like it either, IMO you should be able to set it the way you want and it will stay that way. Guess that's what happens when you put a computer in control.

 

On my 10 if I hit max A/C it's automatically turns on recirc.
