Default Drove a 2011 with Ecoboost, mistake!

Last weekend we traded in my wife's Flex for a new Explorer Limited. Extremely nice vehicle, very refined. We love the My Ford Touch system.

There was a scratch on the vehicle that is being repaired as well as the sync system being updated. So my salesman promised to give me a loaner for the day while they took care of the Explorer. He gives me the keys to a 2011 FX4 with ecoboost. Compared to my 2010 FX4 with the 5.4, wow what a difference. The ecoboost is a beast. The steering on the 2011 is much better as well as the seats are much more comfortable.

I absolutely should have waited for a 2011 instead of getting a 2010. You live and learn, I am definitely jealous of all of you guys running around in your ecoboosts now!

This thread went a whole direction I didn't see it going in.

Glad you like the Eco. Wait a year or two and trade up!

Almost exactly how I ended up with my truck. We took our '10 Explorer in for some work and being somewhat friends with the GM he loaned us his demo truck to go out to eat in and I never gave back the keys, took her home that night

Youre right, have driven a couple myself, they blow a lot of trucks in their class out of the water...

You're not alone. I'm still perfectly content with my '10 F150 Screw but I made the mistake of test driving an '11 Lariat Ecoboost.

I also wish I had waited one more model year to buy.

I love mine, and other than a few issues that i know will get taken care of, it's a BEAST of a truck. My next one will be again an EB.

That is what a dealer is supposed to do. Give you step for a loaner. Get you to "have to have it". I never understood why they give ****ty loaners and crappy cars to people who have very nice vehicles getting serviced.

I'm going to hate to climb back into my old f150 tonight when my wife gets home. I can't say enough about the ecoboost and the minor enhancements to the 2011.

The new blinkers are nice as well as the display and factory remote start. The seats also seem to have more cushion. The new steering is awesome as well.

I'm irate at this point.

sell it or trade it in

The incentives right now are $4000 (including trade and ford finance) and i have a dealer in NC that would probably start at invoice on the brand new one.
