Default Driveshaft

So a couple days before my first oil change I noticed a little vibration like a wheel was out of balance. So when it was in I had them rebalance the wheels. Next day noticed the vibration again and called to get an appointment the next day. Come to find out they had to order me a new driveshaft. They couldn't tell me why it was out of balance but I figured a weight came off. So I have to wait a week for the new driveshaft and deal with the vibration. Just didn't know if anyone else has heard of this problem.

Took mine in for a vibration and they said it was clutch packs in the rear differential. 3 to 4 weeks for parts.

Driveshaft out of balance is a very fast vibration. Often hard to confuse with wheel, if it feels like a wheel it was prolly something that moves slower. My 20's would intermittently vibrate. When I switched to 18" takeoffs that confirmed it was the wheels. Junk tires often won't balance, if you watch them balance tell the people to run the machine again and they will be already out of balance. They will tell you it is always like that but that is a load of bs. IMHO the pirelli scorpions are absolute garbage.

I don't like pirellis either. I was hoping to get them through summer and buy new tires before winter. It shouldn't have a street tire on a fx4 off road truck anyway. My wife bought a new focus in 06 and it had pirellis on it too but they suck in an illinois winter. I could only feel my vibration doin 45 mph or higher.

You must have driven 75k at 25 mph in a straightline then.

I had to replace my driveshaft too.... though it had a huge dent in it.... which I've decided to blame on my wife since it doesn't look like the rest of the damage that happened when I high centered it

There is a lot to be said for driveline vibration... takes so little to mess it up.

They look like slicks but they did it. I was surprised myself. There is no measurable tread.

Update... New $540 drive shaft put in. Did not fix problem, in fact, it is worse. Technician has an email into Ford. I mentioned the clutch packs to him and he is gonna look into it.
