Default Driver's Window acting up? Whats up with that?!

Well to start off I have a 2012 F150 XLT 4x4 with 27,XXX miles, and the driver's window is starting to act up.

I live in Fairbanks, Alaska and it's starting to get cold roughly +15F to -5F right now (warm for this time of year haha!!) and my driver's window is starting to act up now that the temp is dropping, earlier in the "Fall" and Summer it was fine, but now at random times when I start the truck the window will not operate. I know its not frozen shut because I can't even hear the motor trying to actuate, also if I turn the truck off, take the key out and open the door (to shut everything off) and start the it back up the window usually works again but not always, sometimes I have to repeat this process 2 to 3 times before the window will work again. Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this situation I'm having?! Also the only thing I've noticed differently about the window operating up and down is that it's slower then usual and I don't get that nice window thud that all the others make, which gives me that warm and fuzzy that the window is fully sealed shut. I have the Auto up and down for the driver's window...if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the help!!!

I doubt it, but you might want to take off your panel and see if there's a heavy grease on the regulator for the window (if they still have them). I have the auto feature on mine as well and it will go down if I hit a bump while it's rolling up. While you have the panel off, you can check your plug for the motor to make sure there's no broken wires or excess moisture in it. Dielectric grease is good for keeping the moisture out.

Have you brought your truck into the dealer for this, sunkistfreak? My first suggestion is to reach out to one nearby (use this) and schedule an upcoming appointment; they're best equipped to diagnose.

Please keep me posted regarding the window situation; I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Thanks for the tip, Manuellabour247! It's greatly appreciated.

my son-n law had the same problem. he bought a new switch but did not fix it. where the wires come thru the body to door we pulled back the rubber and wire was broken in a bend. it was easy to spot, a burned spot on the wire, spliced in new wire with a little slack and it is repaired. easy to check without pulling the door panel, forgot what color the wire but the black spot was a dead give away. his work sometimes and not others, always at the worst time.

Well my factory warranty just expired...at the perfect time for things to start messing up...but I'll try checking for a burnt or pinched wire in the door and see where that goes first

How did your warranty run out, 1 year and 9000 miles early?

I have the same problem and have brought it to the dealers attention 3 times. It is a intermittent problem, Hey cannot duplicate it and refuse to fix it under warranty.

Do you have a ford remote start on the truck?
I have had the same problem for the past 3 winters with my 2012. Dealer researched on oasis and found that aux power (remote start) tapped into the system causes "only drivers window fail to operate intermittently on remote starts" No fix available besides removing the remote start. The first time I was in for service and brought this to my dealers attention the guy behind me said, "hey my truck does the same thing!" Don't know if that helps you or not but that's my experience. Mine still does it depending on its mood in the morning.
