Default Driver front window won't move

I seen the thread with the wiring diagram of the motor connector and need assistance because two of the three connectors on the switch must be connected to move other windows. Two of four if you include the mirror switch. Can one test the motor with 12v, 2 terminal by using the yellow/BN or green/OR and the black wire or good ground and not connect all the other wires?
I tested the yellow or green with door as ground and meter went to 12v when activated switch so appeared the motor was bad. However after putting in new motor regulator assembly the circuit still failed to operate. Unfortunately I had to cut the old regulator cable in order to remove it; anyway to fix that cable? Was there another way to remove a regulator when the window won't move to align the limited access slot to release the lower window two rubber grips?
