Drive shaft vibration- lemon law
Everyone,
After 30k miles, and me hiring a lawyer... ford finally got off their asses and decided to listen to me. I have had a vibration in the rear end since day one. a month after I bought the truck i said to re balance the drive shaft. they documented it, but didnt do it. a ford field rep test drove my truck and asked me if i thought the vibration was a characteristic of the truck. I laughed. 3hours later, ford called me and said I have a drive shaft problem and they ordered a new one. we will see if that fixes the bad vibes.
The 2012 f150 with a 5.0L engine has the same vibration at 50-80mph.
Ford needs to recall all f150's with the multi piece drive shafts and install a one piece.

My 2011 had a vibration at 35 mph. The dumb *** mechanic said it was the tires and I called B.S. It also had the famous drive line clunk at take off which also made it clunk when down shifting. After 3 different times to the dealer I demanded a new drive line and all the issues went away and the truck is smooth and getting better with every added mile. My truck has never shifted so smooth as it does now. Maybe it finally is breaking in a bit. All of this right in time to trade it for a 2012.

I had the clunk in my driveline when I took off from a stop. The said they can only grease it. So they did and it did the same thing about 10 mi from the shop. I think it is a bunch of crap. We have ford trucks at our work with over 200,000mi on them and they don't have any cluncks!

The service writer told me it wasn't really hurting anything, but I don't actually buy that! If something is sticking then unsticking it can't be good for the u-joints or swing bearing or whatever is taking the shock. If it can be felt like you can on mine they will never make me believe that it is no big deal. If it wasn't it would have done it from the beginning.

They're right the clunk on takeoff however annoying doesn't hurt anything. To fix all you have to do is grease the splined section underneath the rubber billows with the fancy ford blue grease

2011 5.0 scab.. Vibe since day 1. Only between 55-62 mph. Only in the rear... So upset about this issue. Ford checked all angles. Switched driveshafts and wheels and tires off another truck. No change. Pretty much told me tough luck. I didnt want any other truck so decided to just put up with it. There does need to be a recall cause i know im not the only one.
