Go to a junk yard and find an F150 that's the same as yours with an aluminum shaft.

Mine came stock with an aluminum shaft.

Keep the dual drive shaft. The other one is their in case the first one breaks.

What..... The..... Truck..... ? The use of a two piece driveshaft is usually used for vibration suppression, ground clearance, and cutting down overall angles at two yokes/u-joints

The 2 pc drive shaft is due to the length. If they used a1 piece shaft they would have to make it a larger diameter tube to prevent flexing or as they did in some cases make the trans tailshaft longer to shorten the drive shaft. you may notice on some long WB.comercial truck they will use 3 or more drive shafts to keep the length of each shaft shorter.Bubbabud

There isn't a front engine/rear drive passenger vehicle on the planet that has a solid driveshaft - aluminum or otherwise.

And google "driveshaft critical speed" if you want to understand why you have a two-piece driveshaft vice a long single one.

Okay guys now you've confused me!

If your saying the 2-piece is due to having a long wheel base. Why does my truck, which is longer than his, have the 1-piece as opposed to the 2-piece?
