Default Double din instal

This thread is a feeler for anyone who would benefit from an unboxing and install video on a 2011 f150. I will show how to bypass park brake lock for video and also flash the Idatalink maestro module in order to keep all sync functions. Install will be the new Kenwood DDX770. Let me know if anyone would be interested, if not I won't do the video.

I just got the DNX690 and Maestro this past Friday. Loving it so far. Only remaining issue I have left is sometimes the satellite radio won't play sound (shows artist info, song info, etc on the display) unless I either reboot it or simply just change the channel and change it back. That and I still need to get a different background pic on it....tackling that tomorrow hopefully.

But would like to know how to do the parking brake bypass for video for sure.

Hope this helps:
You can load an image from the connected USB device and set it for the background image. Before operating this procedure, it is necessary to connect the device which has the image to load. 1 Touch [Background] in the Display Menu screen. Background screen appears. 2 Touch [STANDBY]. 3 Touch [Memory] of [User Background]. User Background File Select screen appears. 4 Select the image to load.

So I never got around to making an install video. To bypass the parking brake, you just need to ground the park brake wire. I grounded mine to the head unit itself. If you run an alpine you will need to wire in a relay do show it 12v and then a ground.

DDX770 is not compatible with Maestro for Sync functions. You can use Maestro with this radio to retain steering wheel contols and provide you with all your needed wiring, but to work with Sync you need a DNX or DNN radio. The only DDX that works is the DDX370 and that one is last year's setup with the DIN cable and none of the cool new stuff.

Best,
