Default Door Sensor

ok, Where is the door sensor on a 2009 King Ranch truck? I read it was in the latch and bought the sensor specified but when I took the door apart I cant find it anywhere. My sensor no longer turns off the stereo and stuff. I know most show door ajar but mine is the other way. it thinks the door is always closed. I have to open a rear door to make the radio go off every time I get out. Very annoying.

I thought (but do not know) they were built-in, as in they're part of the latch. Have you at least tried blasting it through with a penetrating oil to clean it?

Yep, I have shot wd40 and crc both into the latch and up into the little arm that holds the door when its open thinking maybe it was up in there. For a while it was working off and on when it felt like it but now its not working at all. I suspect its part of the latch because when I took it all apart and looked around I did not see anything that looked like the one I bought and I am not finding wiring to a sensor at all. Other than the power lock wiring I am not finding where it would be plugged in.

I found this on the site and found someone else with the same problem on a platinum 09 and he could not find the switch either. People also swore it was on the bottom of the lock which would make sense but like me, He could not find it. Here is the thread. There is also a 09 wiring diagram for the door and it does not show the plug on the harness for that sensor if it were on the bottom of the latch. Very confusing.

Hmm, i think the only connection is going to be the C525, it won't be separate for the sensor, it'll be part of the power actuation, whether or not it's physically visible when looking at it, i cannot say - do you have a picture? I don't know if it's different or not on the 11+ models, but i think i'll be in my door in January so i can take a look then.

Picture copied from the other thread for the 2009, for completeness.

Thats the picture I was looking at. C525 should be the power lock actuator, The sensor I bought and the ones I find photos of have a small connector for it and I am not finding that connector anywhere. Its a bit confusing. I will try to get back into my door soon to look for it but I never found it last time I was in the door looking for it.

I know the video was for an older Explorer, but did you watch it and see anything similar when he was talking about specifically which plug it was?

I didnt watch it after the other guy said he did and it did not really pertain to the situation. I know I had my door panel off and felt all over that latch and ran through the wiring in the door and never found a sensor in mine. No extra wiring and nothing laying in the door. I have been working on my own vehicles since I was a teenager and would like to think I am smarter than most when it comes to this stuff and I could not find this sensor. I will look again if it is absolutely suppose to be in that location but I am a little baffled as to how I could not find it.
