I have to give this a try! It gets worse in the cold on my truck.

 

We had basically the same thing at the dealer, a repair kit made just for these type of noises, different thicknesses and materials for all sort of different gremlin noises, don't know if you can still get it.

So you had two kinds of tape?

 

I'm gonna try this out. I've had my rear doors off twice now and nothing's worked so far...thanks for the idea

 

A big ***Thank You*** for posting this!!! I just did mine today using a $4.00 roll of high density rubber tape, 1/2" wide that I found at ACE hardware. I cut 2 strips for each hole (if you can get wider tape it'd be easier), stuck them on the door panel (underneath the plastic liner) and VOILA! No more rattles! Close the doors and it sounds so nice and solid now.

So you did it differently than the OP?

 

I tried this today with foam tape. I haven't drove it yet but by the feel of the door panel and sound of the door closing it does feel and sound more solid.

 

My door panel isn't rattling but I pushed the armrest through or something moved underneath. It gives in so easily now with any weight on your elbow in the armrest. Anyone ever have this happen? I haven't got a chance to pull the door panel off to check it out. I searched but couldn't find any results before I gave up.

 

I have the exact same noise from putting weight on my left elbow. It's driving me insane, I'm not sure what has caused it.
