Cool Door Panel Rattle ****FIX****

So as with many 09+ F150 owners I have been dealing with door panel rattle since buying my truck. I have taken the drivers side panel off more times than I would like to remember trying to track down the source of the rattle/noise. Finally earlier this week I had an epiphany that the noise could be from the catch ears of the door panel banging on the metal inner door skin. So the next step was how to resolve this issue? Bingo - FOAM TAPE! This has worked like a charm, I have since installed the foam tape on all the door panels and have eliminated virtually all of the noise. On the front door panels there is a foam pad mounted to the door panel and on my door panels these pads had come loose so I used the two sided (frost king tape available at home depot) tape to reattach them. I used a pick to press the foam tape to conform to the contours of the ears. The foam tape shown is VERY sticky and is rather firm, so if you use a different product you "MAY" not see the same results. See pics below. Enjoy!

By rattle are you talking about something caused by road vibrations or is it from the stereo?

I have a minor buzzing in my driver door panel somewhere around the armrest caused by bumps and road irregularities. Its minor and I don't really think of it as a rattle but I'm still wondering if this will fix it

Assuming your speaking of the foam tape? It is a HVAC product, so any wholesale house should carry it, or from any numurous online venders including eBay. Or depending on your location any hardware or home center "MAY" carry it.

Mainly road vibrations or bumps. Considering the time to do this project with tools and parts on hand was about an hour for all four doors, it was well worth the time for me.

Finally got around to this. My passenger door was the only one doing it. It worked so good that now I can hear microrattles coming from other locations in the cab that I've never heard before, at least consciously. But overall the truck is VERY quiet and solid-feeling now and I couldn't be happier. Thank you OP
