Default in-Door lock protector plates?

Question for the forum. Are these needed for my 2011 F150 XLT Screw?

I understand this was a huge problem for earlier trucks and not sure if they have fixed this? I live in Arizona and car thefts are a major problem.. especially newer dark colored trucks and SUVs...

I'd rather leave my doors unlocked or have them bust the lock and some plastic getting in than doing more damage. With the plates they be more likely to tear up the sheet metal, break glass, scratch paint, etc. They'd have to put my truck on a flatbed to steal it even if unlocked.

I have coworkers that never lock there doors or leave anything of value in their vehicles. They swear by it.

Hope you're willing to invest in bullet proof glass. If the lock gets beefed up, they'll just bust the window instead

from my professional opinion....if they want in, theyre gonna get in
bolt down your shiz as best you can, and for god sakes keep valuables out of sight, better yet not even in your vehicle.
u have no idea how many times ive caught guys and their excuse was "well the guy shouldnt have let it there for me to see. so i just took it"

Agreed. I try best I can to bolt everything down with a variety of screws... Most importantly keeping everything hidden... I have dark tinted windows so you can't see it regardless, but where there's a will, there's a way.

P.S. that's a priceless answer... I assume you work in law enforcement... that being said.. Since you left your patrol truck in my vision... I should be entitled to it right?

I think the deal with these is making whats usually the quietest way of breaking in impossible. If you live out in the woods, someone would have to be beyond stupid (aren't most criminals?) to break a window....

With that being said, anyone have any success stories with these? ie - found their truck not broken into, but an attempt...

Thanks!
