What did you pay to get it done? Where did you go to get it done?

A local tint shop did it as well as matching front window tint. I think I paid about $600 for the whole front end including the grille surround and mirror caps, and under $200 for the windows, but it was built into the invoice from the dealer, all done before I picked it up.

The picture below shows where the paint protection clearly did not do what it was supposed to (note; the stuff in green circles is not dirt, it is BARE METAL). 3m, and their garbage product.

I've had the clear bra stuff on the last few vehicles I've owned, and have mixed opinions on it as well.

The guy I used to have do my clear film protection, moved and so I did not get it done on my wifes car nor my new '13 FX4.

My opinion on it is this, I have traded or sold cars in the past that had the film and some that didn't. In no way shape or form have I ever got less or more money because of having or not having the film. Most people understand a 4-5 year old vehicle will have rock chips on the nose, hood, headlights etc..

I like to look at the tiny scares as "character" proof I'm actually driving, using and enjoying the vehicle. Just noticed, the other day, I probably have 3-4 super tiny chips in the bumper already, and one on a headlight. Doesn't really bother me in the same way a dent or scratch does.

Last car I had clear film on was my wife's previous daily driver, she does 80 miles a day round trip, al highway. Even with the clear film, something the size of a dime, kicked up and still punctured the film. It was a loss cause, as I was going to peel the film off and have a shop fix the damage left behind, and re spray the bumper but........ I would have had to pay for a new clear bra $400-$600 est, respray $400 or so + R&I and de-trim of bumper parts etc... then wait 30 days to re apply new film to the area, which would have been pointless on my wifes commute.

At the end of the day it's a truck, you guys that have the lifts and plus-sized all-terrains will get way more rock chips on your rockers, doors and bedsides, than the front-end will show. Ask me how I know, seen and played in that movie before.

It's a truck man, what's so screwed. It's not like this is a museum piece, or garage queen.
