the only reason I havent put in those bright Halogen bulbs is generally the higher output Halogens have a short life (1-2 years) and would hate to buy a $50 set of heads and a $50 set of fogs every year

I have had 2 sets of HIDs in my GMC for 2 years and have had no issues. They were the ebay specials.

I wouldn't discredit all HID's because of a couple bad sets.

For all those who cry about people with HID's in stock housings, some are worse than others (like Tundras) but if you aim them correctly and don't run 55w in your low beam, its not bad. I tried to use projectors, but unless you want to spend several hundred on them, they are all crap. I ran them for several hours and sent em back because I couldn't see as well. Not to mention stock is better quality and more. I have only gotten flashed once and that was because my driver's headlight was aimed way up for some reason after I installed them. Since then, I haven't gotten flashed. I have been behind cops at night and they don't care.

Yeah I agree, And now a days if they tell you it will last 5 years calculaate it will last you a year if it says longer lasting thats crap!, and if it has a lifetime last that is equal to 5 years!. cops here use hids but the white ones i know because when they were installing mine there was a cop car also getting hids. I love the looks and the performacne of hid lights when I drive the other f150 which is also a 2010 I feel like im going blind with the stock headlights! but since i dont use that one at night I dont mind.

I have HIDs on a lot of my vehicles and its never melted the lens. sucks to hear though. Someone mentioned that the lens would melt if I put HID's in there so I tinted the lens (foglight) and put LED bulbs in there. HID's burn hotter than halogen if not similar to it anyway.

I am from calfironia, and what do u mean with inspection??, but yeah its extremely illegal to have tint so whenever I see a police car I roll down all of my windows and that makes the front windshield look like if it wasnt tinted and well since the windows are rolled down they cant see the tint on the passenger windows either.

Thank you, I am so sick of people doing this and blinding everyone on the road.
