No, engine oil is the header and change soon is the message. If you go through the system check you'll see what I mean.

I'm pretty sure no matter how you rearrange those words, the driver can figure out what is needing to be done.

Soon change engine oil
change soon engine oil
oil engine soon change
oil change engine soon
etc.

Makes sense to me. Do you have IOLM or OLM as in the pre-2011 models? I am at 8k since my last change or 20% according to the dash. I am waiting to see my first message. Suppose to be at 500 miles before needed like you are seeing then apparently another that it needs changed now if you run it down that 500 miles.

This^^ is the exact reason it reads like that. Think of the 1st line as the subject, and the 2nd as its condition.

Subject: brake system/engine oil
Condition: ok/change soon
