Default Do I have to replace the whole mirror?

Yesterday this tow truck, ironically a F450, veered into my lane causing me to veer to the right and hit a post with my passenger side mirror. The damage is not too bad and the lights still work. My question is can the dealer replace some plastic or will I have to get a whole new mirror?

I cracked a piece of plastic on my 2011 150 and the dealer said I had to replace the whole mirror.

It looks to me like you only need the mirror cover. Check at Tasca Ford and talk to Josh.

From what I see you've got damage in two spots on your mirror. The cracked cap can easily be replaced, should cost about $20 plus shipping. The scratch on the side is not so easily replaced. If that scratch is going to bug you every time you walk past it. Probably will want to replace the whole mirror. For me, I'd probably go with the cap and pocket the rest (assuming the tow truck driver is paying) but then, if he's paying, why not the whole mirror???? Your choice I suppose.

If you just want to replace the cap I have brand new caps for the tow mirrors. When I changed out my regular mirrors for tow mirrors I ordered the mirrors with black caps and got the chrome caps seperate to save $50. So I have brand new black caps for the tow mirrors that I would like to get rid of.

I wouldn't think the other driver would have to pay for the mirrors, since he "technically" didn't do any direct damage to your truck. I would just replace the caps and call it a day. The white in the scratch should buff out.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I am glad to know that I don't have to replace the whole mirror. I think I may get the chrome if that is available. I'll post pictures if I do.

Default Got Both Mirror Cover Replaced with Chrome!

I was just gonna replace the right side mirror cap but when I discovered the Chrome ones were just a buck more each, I decided to replace both the damaged side and the driver side with Chrome. Here are some pics.
