I tested the mirrors for heat and neither even warm to the touch after five minutes.

i have very dark tint, so I doubt I need the auto dimm. Should make for an easier replacement.

If I replace the mirrors with FORD product and choose the ones with the puddle lights, will the puddle lights work even tho I don't currently have them?

I know sometimes the wiring is there but the hardware wasn't installed as the option.

 

Negative ghost rider. Well, perhaps, maybe. You'll might need to add some wiring and the switches.

 

@Singitloud Since you have an XLT, yes the wiring is there. Signals and puddles will work even if your truck's mirrors do not currently have those options. The only one option that requires adding wires is power fold.

 

Fuse is intact.
I’m going to save money for now and use de-icer. I’ll spend the $$ when I get some unexpected cash.
