Default Ding in the hood :(

The guy cleaning out the gutters dropped the hose with a hand sprayer right onto my hood.

4 solid marks and one is probably close to a 1/4 dent.

Anyway. He was really nice about it and honest which is something that I'm so glad for. He asked how much it would cost to fix but I have no idea. He asked how much my deductible was I rent and have renters insurance so I'm not sure if this would fall under my trucks or renters insurance because I'm not sure he has the money to fix it. What might help me is that he's the landlords nephew.

On a side note, if the local shops use waterborn paint I'll be waiting until I get to Texas to fix it because waterborn paint is

I was also thinking this would be an awesome time to upgrade to a RKsport Ram Air Hood.

Hoods are made out of aluminum. Repairs might be costly. :/

Contact a local body shop that does (PDR) paintless dent removal, it's typical for each dent removed this way to be about 100 each. Went thru the procedure after a hail storm and they restored my truck to like new. Comprehensive insurance paid for everything.

Yes. From what I understand PDR is hard to do on aluminum because the dent wants to just move not pop out.

It looks like the clear is clipping in the deep dent. I won't let them use bondo or any filler because that ALWAYS cracks with time. ALWAYS!

Your best bet is to pay the insurance and ask for a brand new hood.

I had about 30 dents in my hood and they removed every single one to the point where I could not tell it was ever damaged.

Find a PDR tech that has skill, not some goober in a paint booth high on overspray.

Wow this thread is so full of wrong info. Bondo may crack over time, but no REAL body shop uses Bondo anyway. Also, we don't fix aluminum, if the PDR guy can't get the dents out...its new. Secondly waterbase is not ****. Superior to solvent in my experience. Matches better, sprays better, blends better. Less sensitive than solvent.

Everyone that I know that has ever had any kind of filler on their car it cracks within 5-8 years.

My brother had his black FX4 fixed and they used the watercrap and it had to go back because the first time it had dirt on it you could see everywhere they had used the new paint. Maybe most people have good experiences with it or it's great if it starts out with that paint but my experience is it doesn't work well on this truck. It might have been the shop not using it right but that's not a chance I want to take.

I know what I want, and I don't settle. I'll get the paint done in Texas if they only have water here.

If it means a new hood fine, but I'm confident that my landlord will pay it because his nephew, that he employed to do a job, caused damage to my truck.

Nevermind, looks like a hood is $880msrp and $580 from tasco. I'll get a ram air for $640 if it needs a new hood.
