I just installed an Airlift compressor, gauge and bag kit on my truck. I need to tap in to the dimmer switch power in order to dim the gauge which is currently bright as he!!. Any help would be appreciated

I tapped into the purple wire from the dimmer switch to run my foot well lights not but 20 min ago. On when the running lights are on, and dims when you dim the interior lights. I have a 2013.
