Difference in Ecoboost ExtCab vs. SuperCrew
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a new F-150 w/ Ecoboost sometime in the next few months and I'm very excited. The interior in the Ford is heads above anything else on the market, and now with an engine capable of 20mpg (hopefully) I have to make a purchase. My line of work requires me to travel to various mines so I need a nice mixture of 4x4 ability and as much fuel economy as possible. I'm just wondering if one of you seasoned owners would know how much of a difference in mileage I will be looking at if I go with a Supercrew instead of an extended cab. I'm thinking of the Lariat 4x4 Supercrew in WVU Blue (that's what it should be called!). Any input or thoughts on this subject are appreciated. I can't wait to officially join your community and put the 2011 in my driveway. Thanks again.
I have an Ecoboost Screw, and simply cannot believe that there is as much room in the 2nd row as there really is. In fact, with the ability to fold the seats up and create a HUGE load floor, I don't know why anyone would get anything BUT the super crew.
The supercrew has so much room. If you have kids or haul people around you will probably want the supercrew. I wanted a supercrew fx4 with a 6.5' bed I could only find one with in 50 miles of my house. So if you need a 6.5' bed you might have a hard time finding one in the supercrew trim. I'm from the detroit area you would think there would be more around here.
So what ever you end up with I'm sure you will love it. The 2011 f150 is an awesome truck.

Started out looking at mainly the SuperCab with 6.5 ft bed simply because that is what I had previously. Have had instances when I had a hard time getting things in the back seat. Once had 4 other coworkers ride with me and they were all joking about the room they had (like brothers in the back seat).
Anyway, started looking at SuperCrew versions and was amazed at the extra room (at the expense of the 6.5 to 5.5 ft bed). Got to thinking and decided I like the extra room INSIDE (6.5 ft SuperCrew would not fit in my garage, OK yea it would but two inches to spare, not the 14 inches I have with SCrew and 5.5 ft bed).
As far as the gas mileage difference in SuperCab and SuperCrew, probably you own personal driving habbits have a greater influence on MPG than the difference in the two truck cab configurations.

I just test drove a 2011 Lariat SCREW EB at my local dealer this afternoon and I love the power. The interior of the Lariat makes it hard to believe that it's a Ford truck, what a beautiful job the the gang at Ford. Since the info screen was new to me, I found myself checking it constantly during my test drive. I think I've definitely made up my mind and I'm going to go with the SCREW soon.
Haha look at youtube torture tests of f150 ecoboost kinda states the difference I mean sure all fords are insanly awsome and tuff but ecoboost oversells superduty in gas mileage space look engine durability and realiability. Has a lot of power to do many super duty jobs but ask local dealer for what's best for your situation. Personally if I had the money to buy a ford I'd buy a Raptor but for work and daily use and realiability and power from direct injection...... My soul lies with ecoboost. Sorry for late message.
