Default Did I upgrade Sync?

I just bought a 2011 F-150 last week. I logged into owner.ford.com to check for an update, and it said I had one for Sync. I put it on a USB, went out to the truck and got the first install message. I thought I was done, and pulled the USB and shut off the truck. I didn't notice any changes and started poking around to see what changes were made. This is when I realized that I might not have installed 4.4 properly. However, according to the owner.ford.com website, I don't have any updates and am running 4.4. My info screen in the truck says:

Map Version: 3.1 X
HW: BL3T-19C158-BC
SW: B4U22002

I think I still need to install 4.4. I know people don't like 4.4. That's fine. I am still going to install it if I haven't already. Any way to know whether it is actually installed or not?

I think once you download and say you installed it then the site says you don't have any updates. I would go back and read the download instructions. I just did my 2011 as well and there is a part were it says it's done but your supose to wait until it says it twice and it takes a few minutes In between those finished messages to make it a complete down load.

I believe they have step by step instructions and a few videos as well.

I got the first message, but pulled it after. I tried to install it again and got the first install message, and never got the 2nd install message after a 35 minute wait.

Yeah it took a while between messages. I think there is a ford tech on here that can help you more so maybe he will see this and chime in.

The website has no idea what version you're updated to UNLESS you follow the directions which have you put the USB stick that you just updated with back into your computer and update the site - it reads a file that says the update was completed.

If you search the forum, you'll find instructions how to display the version that is installed on your truck. It's in the menu, I'm not in my truck to find it now, but it's like when you do About on your computer or cell phone.

Yeah. I plugged the USB back into the computer to update the website of my install. This is why I am not sure if I did it correctly. After I plugged in the USB to the computer it uploaded the file, and now says I am on 4.4. However I never got the second install complete in the truck. I don't know how to actually check what version the truck is on. The HW and SW numbers don't get me anywhere.

A while is very vague. Longer than the 35 minutes I waited already? Should I just start the install, and then go for a nice long drive?

I think it took about 30 mins to do mine. Been a while since I updated it.

Mine hasn't been updated since the truck was built. According to the owner.ford website it had Gen1-V3.2.2. I believe that is still what is on there. It could possibly take quite a while to update it from 3.2 to 4.4. That is quite a jump.
