Default Defrost question

So I just got this 2010 fx4 and the previous owner had the back glass replaced but the rear defrost won't come on. I took a peek back there and found the problem... the wires were never reconnected. One of the tabs on the window is hooked up but the other is bare. A black and a tan wire are coming out of the blue plug behind the seat, not connected to anything. Is one the ground? I thought the ground was on the other side of the window. What do I do with them? Can someone help this novice diy'er?!

Thanks

rear windows sometimes explode when defrost is used, probably why the back glass was replaced, lots of people disconnect it to be safe

Better to leave it unless you want to pay for a new rear window.

Ok, so leaving it be is one option but what about the mirrors? How can I get them to defrost without the rear defrost hooked up?

Often posted, yes. But how many broken windows where people don't post on forums? I've personally seen six this winter taped up or cardboard taped to the window. And that's just my little world in my little town.

Do the side mirrors not defrost when the back windows is unplugged? I thought this was only a problem for people with the remote starts? I used mine a couple of times this past winter, but only for a couple of minutes. I turned it off as soon as I could see through the back window,

I don't believe they do - the button on the dash doesn't even light up when you push it.
