Default DeeZee Tailgate Assist HELP?!?!

Hey guys, I tried installing the threaded insert tonight and had no luck. I feel really stupid. Every time I tried I kept the bolt still and turned the nut and the whole assembly turns not doing anything. Eventually the bolt came out of the threaded insert and fell on the ground. Am I doing something wrong? I feel like a giant tard for not being able to figure this out. Any suggestions.

You're definitely not alone - I had the same issue but found a way to make it work. Hopefully the diagram attached makes sense. If it doesn't hold up I will go the other route.

Mine broke the first time I loaded my 4wheeler in the back. Poor design.

As everyone else said.... That nutsert is worthless. Anyone who says it's worked fine for them (maybe 5%) were just lucky! Do the mod, it takes 5 minutes, very easy to do & you'll be problem free!
It was originally posted on the Raptor forum by a member who did it this way.... Thus the term "Raptor Mod".

I followed the directions which include telling you how far out the bolt should be when you start. Clearly you need to stop it from turning everything as was posted earlier.

I did not do the mod, elected to see what happened. I've been using it for around six months and so far it's fine.

Do the mod in the link listed above. I did the mod for both my truck and my brother's 2014 F250. Both are holding up great.
