Bottom row of the decal:
E1521=Essex Engine Plant
190214= February 14, 2019
0367= Sequence (yours is engine #367 off the line)
This is straight from the 2014 FSM for the 5.0, Section 303-01C

Thank you for shining more light on this mystery! I bought the truck over Memorial Day and the more work I did on the truck the more it made wonder if this was not the original engine. A few weeks ago, I found a sensor plug on the drivers side behind the alternator just dangling there. It appeared to be a sensor for the oil pan except there wasn’t a sensor to plug it in. So, instead a 2011 engine with a 107k miles I have a 2019 engine with unknown miles. I can’t imagine the engine sat in the crate
on the shelf for 2 years prior to be installed. So, I wonder if this came out of a 2020 truck? Either way, I have a 8-9 year younger than I would have had if it was the original. When I started wondering if this wasn’t the original engine it started to make me wonder if it came from a vehicle with a lot more mileage than what was on the odometer!

Once again, Thank you for the information

The "P415" code on the sticker refers to the product years 09-14. So most likely the engine is a crate engine replacement.

I would be shocked if this was a pullout from a 2019 truck. They went to dual injection in 2018 so there's no way a 2019 complete factory engine would work with an earlier ECU. Ford significantly changed heads and compression ratio and more for the 2018 model year, so a repair shop would have to do a ton of disassembly to put old parts on the new short block, and even then there's no telling if the stock ECU would run it without a tune to accomodate the differences. Ford built long blocks compatible with 2011-2017 installations for many years, so it's possible that a "Gen 1" engine was assembled in 2019 but built to the early specs.

Would it not make a lot more sense that date format is actually DDMMYY, so 190214 translates to 19th of Feb, 2014.

I thought I was going to be all smart and post my sticker for comparison...

Obviously my engine was assembled on March 11, 2011. I'm no help.

Lol, well pretty cool thread. Mine was so dirty I had not actually noticed it before. I'll have to save it if ever have to change the driver side like the passenger side. July 28, 2011.
