You know I was wondering that as well.
I don't change anything until my warranty goes out and that includes my own oil.
I follow the manual on maintenance and no mods until I hit 36K.
Back to your original statement: I think they may find more than they say (all dealers not just Ford), in some cases.

If I was in the friends shoes, I would just say thanks and go to a different dealer.

We should have Mike from 5 Star read this thread and see what he thinks about the OP story. Mike has been a great source of info on this board and I'm sure we could get a honest opinion from him. His sales of X3 tuners from this forum may be affected if the OPs story is true.

Id hate to tune my truck, get denied warranty, then go buy a dodge out of anger, and not do anything to it until i mile it out.

I quizzed my cousin who is a Ford tech on tuners a while back. How I recall him explaining it was that their diagnostic tools can tell who last modified the ECU. So if it was stock it would show FoMoCo, or tuned it would show the name of the tuner.
IMO, the risk isn't worth it until you run your warranty out or are capable of taking responsibility for your actions.

While i have no current plans of major mods, and wont be doing this... With the way things are today if i was running any form of a power adder with mild boost, id just buy another PCM flash that and keep the stocker off to the side... If problem occurs not related to supercharger/Tune Stock PCM goes back in and .... its all good
