Its not his truck that gets screwed up if something goes wrong.
The whole basis of this thread, is about "FoMCo" in an ECM. So i feel that even if you do one small thing, like recalibrate your speedo for bigger tires, the ECM will show that your timer is/was in there voiding your warranty. Or at least theres a chance of that happening.
Im one of the small guys out there, and there is no way Ill gamble warranty on my 50k truck.
Hence wanting to slap the guy.

My name comes from when my wife and I first worked together in law enforcement and we wore the same blue uniforms to work. Every night we stopped at this convenient store on the way home and this lil old man working behind the counter always said "Here comes my favorite Twinkies" and it just stuck.

He should arm himself with printouts from forums, and also he should write a letter to the dealership and tell them about the story of how this guy cost United a few million bucks over a broken guitar they wouldn't cover...What I am saying is in this day and age there are things people can do...

This has over 12 million views and the stock took a huge dive because of it..United instantly lost something like 180 million dollars..

I am confused as to why people are blaming Ford for voiding warranties when Ford is only out to protect themselves. A warranty is not there for people to do whatever they want to their vehicles and cry to the manufacturer that they make a crap product. Every single consumer of tuning products should know that there is always the risk of voiding the warranty and should not bad-mouth Ford for being a bunch of ****'s about their warranty program. Honestly, Ford is there to protect their investment, not to **** off customers.

A warranty simply states... If you dont f*ck with what you purchased, we will promise you that we will make sure you will get 100k out of it, so long as you dont f*ck with it.
If you throw in a tuner, you accept the risk of f*cling it up. So, if you f*ck with it.... Turn youre Only f*cking yourself... And have no reason to cry to ford about it.

For most of us, our cell phones came with a warranty. If you root your phone, changing the programming it, you already know that if your phone freezes up or the battery won't charge, that you will have to buy a new phone. You already know that you can't go to Verizon or Sprint or AT&T and have your phone replaced under warranty.
Why would you think you could alter your truck without voiding a warranty. If you install a leveling kit and your front half shafts wear out, it may not be covered under warranty, because you changed the suspension geometry.
In a bone stock truck a tuner (depending on brand) can change the air fuel ratio, the timing curve, the shift firmness, sometimes even the variable valve timing, and sometimes the level of boost from the turbo (if equipped) and several other parameters. Without knowing what the tune was before being returned to stock, why would Ford want to pay for your repairs? All the know us that the tune was changed.
This is no different that auto manufacturers sealing up transmissions and declining to rebuild it because they can tell you pulled the pan down, even if all you did was change the filter.
In my opinion you should accept the standard warranty on a new truck when you plan on modifying. Once that warranty runs out and you know the drivetrain has proven itself, then start your modifications. That is, if the warranty thing bothers you.
