I would say your dealer is doing you good.I personally wouldn't ask him for anymore than he offered. It could always be you that that same position.

I wouldn't ask for anything more than the OEM HIDs. They break one of ur lights and they give u TWO in exchange. They have a $2000+ price tag. Lets not get greedy

They always take care of me and your right, I am not going to them tomorrow and expect anything else.

I do way prefer that they did "man-up" about it, though its not like they could have hidden it.

The dealer owes you new headlights and an apology. Why does everyone feel entitled to so much more when something like this happens. The dealership could have very well handed you the phone number to their insurance company and you would have been given the cost of a new headlight.

I get it, it pi$$E$ you off, would me too, but I think they handled it very well! Usually the story is we didn't do it or they try to blame you......that's when you unleash the wrath of an angry owner on their butts.

Hope they stand by their word and fix it up for you! Good luck!

I see you agree but these comments are more for the others who think you should get lottery jackpot winnings out of them.

I looked over the damage pretty well and it looked to me the fork just pierced the light housing getting both bulbs inside so I dont believe anything else was hurt but they promised going through all the nearby wiring to make sure nothing else is hurt.

Wish mine had been just headlight. My dealer got the passenger mirror, passenger rear door, rear cab corner, box step and side of bed on concrete door opening into thier car wash.

Ya gotta be realistic here, as said, accidents happen, and it's how they "make good", but I wouldn't expect anything over and beyond the value of the original headlight that got busted out. What if the shoe was on the other foot?

Things happen. Mechanics are human just like the rest of us. I have a cousin that did a work for school program where the local Ford dealer payed for him to go to a diesel mechanics school in return for him working for them for 2-3 years after he finished. The first week he was there after graduating he was pulling a brand new F350 duelly into the bay to put some accessories on before the buyer pick it up. On the way into the bay he hit the door facing and took the entire fiberglass fender well off the passenger side of the truck! lol.

The dealership just told him that every mechanic gets one and then they found the buyer another truck to replace that one with.

As long as they man up and admit to it and then replace what was messed up so you don't lose money, be happy and go on with life!

Twinkies,
IT sounds like the dealer is working to make it right. I know it sucks that your rig was damaged, but My thoughts are if they admit their mistake and make it right your good to go. They should do whatever they need to in order to make your truck exactly as it was when you dropped it off. If they are offering an upgrade to the lighting take it and say thank you.

Trying to squeeze them for a bed liner or other accessories that have nothing to do with the lights is wrong. Now, IF they offer one, by all means take it.
