Default dash lights on ?

so i parked and locked my truck about 3 hours ago... took my wife's car.. parked hers (here in the city, NYC area) and walked past my truck and noticed that only the WHITE dash lights illuminating the #'s on the dash were lit up

I didn't have my keys but unlocked the door .. got inside locked the doors and they stayed on ..

strange.. never did that before...
only thing I have changed recently was the sync upgrade
that's another issue I notice its randomly switching to blue tooth and playing my play list without me doing it manually

anyone have similar issues?

I believe there's threads on here about the problem. People reported that the gear selector switch goes bad, causing those lights to stay on. Don't know if it's the same problem or not.

Is your fix continuing to work? I'm having the same issue and I've already replaced the shift assembly to no avail. I'm wondering what wires you messed with, or if you have any other thoughts/details as to how you fixed your issue.

Thanks!

I have this bookmarked from a little while back from this subject on this board but for some reason it will not let me pull the page up even with a google search of the exact post....anyway it is a known cause and fix for the issue that is described in the O.P.

Default After switch and Assembly replacement, dash lights still problematic

Heel70,
Unfortunately I don't believe that switch will work in my case. I previously replaced that switch (ordered through Digi-key for about $7 plus shipping http://www.digikey.com/product-searc...words=sw721-nd) and when that didn't fix the issue, I had the entire shift assembly replaced with genuine Ford shift assembly, and yet the problem continues to this day.

Thanks for trying!
