Default Damn Bugs!!!

I live in SW Texas and commute 50 miles to work on open freeway. Bugs are EVERYWHERE!!!! Because of the carnage left after driving to and from work the front end of my truck looks like s**t. The biggest problem being that it sits in the parking lot at work under the sun for 10 to 12 hrs and so the bloody carcasses are baked into the silver paint. Anyone know a good product or method of removing this mass homicide. I've tried NUMEROUS products and nothing gets em completely off. On the weekend I'm gonna try clay barring, hopefully that works.

Try ISo. Alcohol will strip your wax. But will get the baked on bugs off.

Are you referring to the Love Bug invasion everyone in the South seems to experience this time of year? Evil little black splats for sure left all over your vehicle. Wash like you normally would with a little bit more elbow grease and then something like clay bar will probably work. When you get done seal it with a good wax/sealer to make it easier to get off the next time. Maybe buy a bug screen to put on the front while the season is here, they usually only stick around about a month in the Spring. Good luck, we have the same problem here in Florida.

Not sure about the paint, but you should consider a bug screen to protect your radiator. I live in East Texas and completely understand your problem, and have killed many-a-bugs myself. I put a DBS Bug Screen on mine and it is amazing how much it catches.

You may think I'm crazy but baking soda does wonders and doesn't have any negative effect on the paint. Just water it down, sprinkle some on the front of the hood, and hand rub it in.

I wasn't a believer in this until I did it myself and I was very impressed with the outcome.

i know what you mean. this has been a problem on all my vehicles the front of the car or truck i own eventually looks horrible due to highway driving. Last year i found this stuff at advanced auto parts:

http://www.surfcitygarage.com/shop/r...rime-destroyer

I have tried alot of stuff this seem to be the best i have found so far to remove the bugs. you still have to work to remove them just not as hard.

good luck.

I also have used road wrap http://www.buyroadwrap.com/ on long trip but the ends fly up and eventually mark the paint. then you have to buff the marks out. if you can keep the ends from flying up it will work.

i have always wanted to try griots garage products but never have.

good luck

To hell with the bugs on the truck, what about the bugs in the house?

When I lived in rural Texas I kept my place spotless. Yet every night I had an array of creepy crawling. Big bastards too. Roaches. Spiders. All of em.

I miss the fishing and the open space but u can keep the critters.

No I don't think we have love bugs down here. We got big bugs that splatter yellow and red blood all over the windshield and front end. I gave a ingot silver truck but my front end looks like a tweeker vomited all over it.

Thanks for the ideas guys.....ifc I'll try the baking soda. If that doesn't work I'll look into the products hellzno suggested. Just looking at my front end makes me want to buy a blow torch and go on a highway mass killing spree!!!
