Default Creaking/Popping at full lock

Ever since I got my truck the only gripe I have had with it (except for the ****ty stereo, but thats not the trucks fault) is this creaking metal noise at the front end that occurs only when i am close to or fully hard over on the steering wheel. I'm not sure what is causing it but it sure doesn't sound healthy. Has anyone else experienced this?

It's the steering stops, putting grease on them is supposed to help till the grease is gone or don't turn to full lock.

I don't have this on my truck but did on a loaner and both are SCrew's and mine has 18" wheels and the loaner 20" so my question is to the OP and Manatee, what size tires do you have?

20", Wiz. That must be it. Strange hearing that on a truck that's bone stock

Ummm... why are you guys driving at full lock?

Bad for the power steering pump. I've never driven with the steering at full lock. If I hit it by accident, I back off slightly. Having said that, I haven't experience any creaking... yet.

x2. I never turn it to full lock. Maybe it's old school to think it will cause damage but I stick to it.

Mine does it also at full lock. It's only at full lock when I leave my house trying to turn around and leaving driveways out into the first lane as not to impead on the next lane. (always moving slow) I have 18"s
