Default Creaking noise when closing doors.

I have a 14 F150 SCREW. When closing the front doors there is a creaking noise. I have traced the noise to a rubber seal mounted to the front edge of the door. The noise is caused by this rubber rubbing on the fender when closing the door. Both front doors do it. If I lubricate the rubber with silicone it is quiet for a couple weeks but the noise comes back. The seal is only about 4 inches long and I am not sure of its purpose. I am tempted to remove it but am hesitant because it must be there for a reason. Anyone have any experience with this or thoughts I would appreciate it.

Spray seal with silicone lube. Works for me every time. Lasts about a month for me.

Dilectric grease on mine. Hasn't done it in a few years (but mine is a weekender also so it's not getting opened several times a day.)
