A couple of ?'s...
I have a '09 XLT with 54k on the clock that I just picked up last month.
1. How long do the dealerships honor the TSB's?
2. I found out yesterday that the previous owner never bothered to get the 3rd brake light gasket changed, got a little water on the headliner is all. I sealed it with silicone last night but anything in particular you found really worked to clean mild water stain on headliner without making it worse?

A TSB isn't like a recall. It is merely a quick tip to tell how to fix a common problem. If a dealer uses a TSB, they can charge you for it like any other repair. If the truck is still under warranty, the repair could be done at no cost whether or not they use the TSB for direction. Depending on the used car warranty you got when you bought the truck, you might get repairs covered for a short time.
OK that helps with that; never purchased an ESP, never have. I just feel personally that they are a waste of money. If you figure in the cost of the plan itself, like the dealer tried selling me ( $2500 for 3/36) I could easily just save that money and put in account if I felt the need because odds are you will never meet that cost in 3 years. I would rather gamble and keep up on scheduled maintenance than just blindly throw money at a dealer just so I can sleep better at night.

Back to your TSB's... if you have specific ones in mind you could ask your dealer what the cost of repair would be. Then you can decide to have it done by them, do it yourself if possible, or live with the issue.
I follow that same logic. I take my chances and keep the money in my pocket. I try to be self insured if I can afford repairs that could arise.
