Cornering light wiring?
I want to wire up white cornering lights to automatically turn on as long as the flashers are going. But these would be constant light to illuminate the turn, not flashing signals. I’m no auto wiring genius, but this is what I’ve figured out. Looking for insight. I had these on a car from the 80s, and on nothing since. I think it's about time I stopped wishing I had them.
The flasher "relay" is just software in the BCM (2013 FX4 402a), and the turn signal lever doesn’t stay depressed physically, so it seems like there is no wire anywhere that would have a constant load from a turn signal. I can’t find one in wiring diagrams I’ve seen, although reading these things is not my area of expertise.
I think Ford added them in 2015 as an option, but that doesn't help me, I'm sure.
I'm thinking I could use a relay with an off delay of maybe 2 seconds. I don’t know how these work, exactly. Would that work: constant on/off for a minute (from tapping into a flasher wire) keeps this relay powered to keep the light steady, then would it just stay on for 2 more seconds after the flasher goes off? Ex: Relay
