Default Converting/Adding 4x4 Auto

Has anyone converted a standard 4x4 transfer case to the unit that includes the Auto 4x4 feature ?
I'm wondering if the wiring is there in the harness both at the case and dash switch too.

I have a 2013 FX4 and would really like to add this ability. I'd really like to hear anyone's experience with the viability and cost if it's possible.

I'm no expert, but I'd suspect it's a different transfer case and/or different internals.

This might be helpful in determining what parts you need though

Oh man. I'm interested if only to see how involved it is. I'm guessing it will be $$$$$.

I bet conversion would not be feasible.
Best would be to trade your truck for a 4X4 Auto truck.
But why?

I'm guessing it's very feasible if the wiring is there. Most likely a new transfer case and dash **** switch. It's very possible and likely the wiring is not there.

People it is not a full time 4X4, it just engages 4X4 when needed, just like you could do with a flick of the switch.

I understand what it is, and know how to use 4wd. But if it were a cheap option to do, I would be interested for the rare time I need 4wd to get up and go in crappy weather.

Actually, it leaves the hubs locked in and engages the tcase as needed. And I bet you can't "flick the switch" quicker than the computer can...
