Has anyone done this swap? I am done trying to fix the non-working front passenger window on my 2010 XLT. I am calling this the "final solution."
Any background on what requires would be helpful. Parts list. What I can use from what currently exists. It seems like finding a used door with manual window is pretty difficult.
Should be easy enough to do just match the parts (for manual crank)....I'd try a pick & pull (or any scrapyard) .....most XL/STX & some xlt's will have manual crank windows....inside crank assembly will have two X arms that go to the bottom of window track...A little tricky to install but no big deal ??....Check when you buy the parts that the rods that go to the door handle are the same & you should be golden !!
Been awhile since I've done one but I think you hold the window about 1/2 up...insert/install those two X arms ....then install the actual crank where it mounts & tighten down....You might have to put the crank assembly in the mounting hole first but leave it loose so you can manipulate the rest of fit...Also put the rear X arm in last....Good Luck !!
PS: don't bend any of those arms it will go together

CoppellBrian... do you have any idea of the years that will match the 2010?
Checked all of the 2009 - 2014 F-150 sales brochures and manual windows were standard on the standard and supercab models of the XL, STX, and unoptioned XLT.
Given that the entire door is interchangeable, window mechanisms should (?) be compatible. *CAVEAT: Have no 1st hand experience nor point of reference.

Thanks, do you have any idea of the years that will match the 2010?
2009 to 2014 should be an exact match !! However some auto wreckers may not separate window crank from a good door...Although @ this point of time that probably is not an issue ??
Maybe you are used to it since your passenger window doesn't work, but my last truck had manual windows and I had thought that I could live with it, but when I traded in, power windows were a must. I hated the fact that when you wanted the windows down you either had to do it before you got in, or pull over and do it. There was no way you were reaching across while moving and rolling the window down. Personally I'd fix the power one.
I hear you. After I exhaused my efforts to find the problem I broke down and took it to the dealer. They said it was the regulator. Not the problem. On another post a couple of years ago I listed out all the things I explored, to no avail.
The oddest thing is that on the driver switches, the "lights" on the switches for the front windows are always dark. The dealer didn't seem able to explain why that was and what sort of clue it might be to the problem.
If only the lights on the front switches are dark, that suggests a problem inside the switch. All the lights come from one line. In throwing parts, have you tried the driver side switch? I've circled the lights.
