Considering the FX4 or XLT
i cant believe i forgot about this. that was a major concern for me in my first 3 trucks. they all had flip center condoles. i decided on the center condole fx4 this time. its a bitch getting older and married. now i like the fact that she cant lay all over me and get in my way while driving lol... dont get married
ever! in my experience impossible with current fx4 set up go xlt

Just like most have said...I actually considered that when buying my truck...but I still went with the FX4 with the shifter in the center.
Actually asked the GF to attempt it...but i got shutdown because it is difficult with the center console. , so we went into the back and fooled around there. Love to S-CREW..I mean the S-CREW for the seats! Yeah that's what I meant.
Just can't wait to get the front windows tinted up.

I found it was easier to negotiate a special order than for one sitting on the lot - there's other Ford dealers you know.
Here's the reason - you find a truck you want on the dealer's lot. The daeler knows they have you - odds are that exact truck won't be anywhere else, especially as you get to the higher end models.
Or, you place an ORDER with the dealer - and the dealer refuses to negotiate on price. No problem! You take the order to the other Ford dealer an hour down the road. He won't negotiate either? Go to a different one. Eventually you'll find one that will deal.
Although in my case as soon as the dealer realized I was serious about going somewhere else, they caved in and gave me the price I wanted on the XLT.
As for another reason for XLT over FX4? Money. When I got my XLT, the FX4 base price was something like $3,000 more and it had $2,500 less in rebates.
