Default Command start not working

I have a 2011 5.0 XTR supercab. My command start has stopped working, when I try and start my f150 using command start, I get 2 beeps from the horn. I have also noticed at the same time, the lights don't flash when I lock the truck when they used to. Could I have knocked it into valet mode or something similar? Can't find anything in the manual about it. How would I get it out of valet mode of that's what it is?

Check the hood pin if your looking at the engine bay it's on the right hand side near the coolant reservoir. Maybe the cable came lose or isn't connected. If it gone to the dealer the disconnect them sometimes. If that doesn't work disconnect the battery for 15 min and reconnect. That usually solves the issue

Yep. Check the hood pin and also make sure your doors are shut and tight.

I checked the connection to the hood pin this morning, all good. Made sure all doors were shut, still no change. I will try disconnecting the battery this evening, like you said, hopefully that will reset it.

Unplug and reconnect the hood switch a few times, sometimes the contacts get oxidized and that usually gets them making good contact.

It's fixed!

Not sure exactly what fixed it, but I disconnected the battery, and whilst it was disconnected, I cleaned the connector to the hood pin to make sure it's getting a good connection. Once I put that back together and connected the battery back up, it was all working as it should.

Thanks for your help guys, I hate anything electrical!

Mine has done it a couple times and the hood switch connector was always the cause.

There didn't seem to be much wrong with the connector, but I gave it a good clean, so who knows? I guess it doesn't take much to stop electrics from working 🙄
