Waste of money. Just get a tuner.

Do what makes you happy I just put a K&N on my 5.0 with exhaust and I'm happy so that's all that matters. I'm not saying it does anything in the HP department but it does seem more responsive. Once again do what makes you happy.

I finally took my Airaid intake off for good a few weeks ago. I bought it a long time ago with my Superchips tuner that I used to have before my SCT custom tunes. I installed them both at the same time so I didn't really have a before and after feel for the intake only. About 4 weeks ago when I was in the middle of letting my Airaid synthemax dry after cleaning it, I had to go somewhere and didn't want to wait for the filter to dry so I re-installed my stock box. After doing so, I noticed the truck felt like it had a little more torque down low. I knew that most intakes loose power down low to gain higher end power, but I didn't think it would be that evident. For the next two weeks I switched back and fourth with the intake on and off. I even tried with different tunes and unplugging the battery every time. I finally came to the conclusion to just leave it off because I liked the more torque down low feel over any kind of gains that in might have made up high that I really couldn't feel. The only big plus to the intake was that you can hear the turbos better, but again I would rather have more torque feel over noise.

Mainly for looks and sound. I love the intake sound the 5.4 makes! I specifically purchased and have the AEM cold air intake. The filter is huge, the tube is 4" huge and chrome, and the best part... Thus AEM kit deletes every single intake silencer. It replaces the intake from the front of the throttle body forward. No keeping the ugly plastic plenum with giant silencer. No keeping the ugly lower part of the filter box. Moreover, this kit comes with that AEM calls an " ETI module". It plug between the MAF and computer harness. It calibrates the signal for the larger intake tube. Sounds and looks bad ***!!!! Thats all its good for though.

i have the 5.4l on my truck and i was considering alot of performance parts to go in, but after taking my time in the forums and reading threads, i just discarded the CAI upgrade. As everybody its just for sound, so i did the Gotts Mod and i did gain a little growl under the hood, but thats it, no gain in consuption nor performane or throttle response. Now im just opting for a tuner, im choosing the Edge CTS with a drop in filter and maybe an exhaust.
