Default Code B1305:01 Hood switch

Hello all; 2012 F150 3.5; I am getting this code when scanning, tried erasing but it will not go away. I do not have remote start nor can I find a hood switch anywhere under the hood.

Any ideas why this error code is being thrown and how to resolve it? Thanks!

Well, the switch should be a plunger on the driver side about halfway between the front of the truck and the firewall, where the hood would depress it when closed. If you don't have that, I would imagine it is a BCM fault of some kind thinking that its receiving some signal from the switch. The wire (if it exists) should be #2 in connector C2280F on the BCM, perhaps there could be damage there even if you don't have the switch.

The pigtail for the switch probably exists even if the switch isn't there.

Default Well I found the problem

I poked around in the engine bay behind the coolant tank and I luckily found the entire hood switch and bracket laying in there! I just had the truck repaired due to a fender bender so I'm not sure if the repair shop did not put it back on or it was not there in the first place. I suspect the second reason because I only had the truck for like 2 weeks before it was hit and these guys did a great repair job...before that I noticed some sloppy body work and repairs. SO...I remounted the switch and now all is well, no codes! Thank you to everyone for your help, your comments helped me dig around in the right area to find the missing parts! (I hope I mounted it correctly).

Nice.

So, you could have remote start, as it is built in to these trucks. What keyfobs do you have?

I don't think so, its a standard 3 button remote, lock, unlock and panic. Only got one key from the seller (bought used) bought and programmed a 2nd one myself using my Autel scanner. The remote start options do not appear in the options in the central LCD display. Wondering if I can activate the remote start using my Autel scanner? or is it something only a dealer can do...would be nice to have! Thanks.
