My 2014 does the same, no rhyme, reason, or consistency to it. It's why I refer to it's transmission as the "schizomatic". Hell, I had an old Chevy farm truck that needed motor mounts, a transmission mount, and a center support bearing that didn't clunk/slam going into reverse as hard as my F150 randomly decides it needs to.

Haven't taken it to the dealership yet because I really don't want my truck being driven by someone else, burning my gas all day for a "could not duplicate" or "characteristic of the vehicle" result that all-to-often happens with intermittent/random issues.

I have a 13 stx. Column shifter. Really though, mine hardly ever wants to slam these days. Its been months. And when it does want to, the brake pumping countermaneuver works consistently for me.

I went to the dealership today and talked to service. The guy there checked for any TSB's and the only ones he could find were on a cold engine/trans. He said to bring it in Monday and they will check it out as it could be a related problem. From what I understood, they will check out the transmission controls via a computer or similar device. He mentioned about a replication of the banging, but I told him it was sure not to bang as it only did it twice so far. I told him the bang was severe and I thought it could eventually destroy the trans, if it did it a bunch. He did say they have seen this banging before, so they know about it. Anyway, they will check it out Monday and I will report here on what they find/do.

Well...dealership mechanic tested truck and can find nothing wrong. Drove it around and said when he put it on an incline it did bump a bit going into reverse, but he didn't think it was abnormal. I told him I didn't think he could get it to slam as it had only done it twice (in a row). He sez, well....you got a good warranty. If it starts doing it on a regular basis or it tears up, we will take care of it. That's it for now. I ain't gonna worry about it if they ain't gonna worry...ha. I sure like my truck and it is a pleasure to tool down the road in.

I get the same loud bang when I stop and put the truck into reverse and begin to back up. "Bang" Does anyone know what the problem is and how to repair it. I have had the truck to three dealers but not fix. One ford transmission mechanic said that it was normal. I have had many ford trucks and none have ever done this. Any help would be most appreciated. 2010 F 150
Thanks in advance!
