I have viewed about every video that I can find to change mirror caps, and the tabs on the my 2013 Limited appear a bit different than what I could see on the videos. Most videos that show good detail, show an obvious tab. The tab on my 2013 appears less apparent. I really would like to keep my pearl white mirror caps and not break them off. Anyone have any suggestions.

 

The Only way you can remove your PTM mirror caps without breaking any tabs is to Remove the mirror Glass! Easily done by using a Medium tipped screwdriver, and inserting between the 3 tabs on the mirror Motor & Glass!

Theres 2 tabs on the bottom and 1 tab on the top! Many threads on accomplishing this, a lot easier than it sounds... Just be Gentle while doing it, or you'll be replacing the glass! After the glass is off you'll remove 4 torx screws and the front mirror cap and bottom cover will come off!

 

X2^ I've become so good at it, I am now the f150/edge ''mirror guy''at my work! Whenever we have to paint just the cap on either vehicle, all the other painters bring them to me, Haha! Like you said, it is way easier than it looks/sounds
