I don't mind chrome in moderation like the rims and grill but mirror caps were a no go and I prefer stainless tips to last longer. My lariat had too much of it so I just replaced the mirrors with tow mirrors (primarily to help my wife driving the truck but I made sure to get solid black) and when I got my dual exhaust done I had them go stainless front to back.

I have never been a chrome fanatic by any stretch, but I also think it can really look classy when done in moderation. I really liked what Ford did with the XLT chrome package as it was just enough.

My XLT with Chrome Package:

I think you can tastefully add touches of Chrome/Billet for accent on all-painted trucks like my F250/F150 FX4 sisters:

I am not a fan of all murdered look, but I also like having the absence of chrome for a change like my FX4 (with those hideous factory wheels some people complain about...lol):

I learned my lesson with my motorcycle. It's got a bunch of chrome on it, and it takes me about two hours to do a good job cleaning it. Now that is a top to bottom front to back cleaning job, which I don't do all the time. Having said that, I find a lot of the black makes these F150's look kinda low end. Some of it is pretty nice though. Body colour I like better, but chrome is still king, but in moderation. ;-)
