It's not a gas cap, per se. It is a locking filler "plug" to prevent gas theft. But it's not air-tight and it won't stop the switch failure problem. It fits multiple Ford vehicles with the capless system, including 2009-2012 F-150. I have one. About $25

If your capless filler is not holding pressure then it is deffinatly an emmission related part read your emmission warenty book I believe it is listed and if you have emission testing it will not pass If ford wont help contact theEPA thats what we pay them for. Unless there to busy outlawing your gas lawn mower to look into it

So the thieves just poke a hole in your plastic gas tank about $400

I just got this problem on my 2012 fx4. It's got 13k miles and hasn't had a problem. I put a k&n drop in filter in it last night and this morning the fuel filler warning came on. It comes on right when I start the truck. Coincidence or is the filter causing this problem?
