Whats the point in programming your own code if the truck will still unlock with the factory code? Can a dealer change it?

Before the BCM controlled the RKE system you could replace the RKE module to get a different code from what the factory gave it. Not sure how the 09-10 GEM equipped trucks handle it but 2011> would require replacement of the BCM to get a new permanent code.

EDIT: There may be a Forscan possibility but that is unknown territory AFAIK.

The 10th Gen trucks had the code on a sticker on the GEM module itself, so 99% chance that's how you would change the factory code to a different one- swap out the GEM to one with a different code.

You might be a little unclear about the code too. When you say factory door code that means the master code for your truck. Every F150 that rolls off the line doesn't have the same master code. So it's not like anyone with an F150 can go to your truck and use their code to get in. The only ones who should know what your code is is you and the dealer. You can also program additional codes in as you wish. There really isn't a need to change the factory code. It's usually only located on the Gem, fuse box, or on a card in your manual.

Or the previous owner, or an ex-wife etc...
