Default Change in Bolt Pattern

So can anyone confirm that the bolt pattern was changed between the 2004-2008 (some 09s) to the 2009-2011s? I was at the ford dealer today to get some new tires on the wifes car and went over to parts just to look around. I looked in a catalog and saw these 18 x 7.5 Chrome wheels that looked awesome (to me) but it said for 2008s not anything higher. Asked the dealer and they told me the bolt pattern changed and am unsure about this. Thanks in advance.

Damn I wonder why they said that. I mean I was interested in buying some wheels from them, why turn down business? Why not do the research and find out if they do fit?

Your source may have been trying to save you some headaches, but for the wrong reason. Although the bolt pattern is the same, some of the alloy 17" rims--don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure the alloys from the earlier FX4s are one--don't fit over the '09 and newer calipers. Not enough clearance.

Some of the earlier 17" wheels do, however. I bought a set of 4 steel OEM take-offs from an Expedition and they fit fine on my '09, which originally came with chrome-clad 18s. Just take a jack and a lug wrench with you and fit 'em before you buy.

They are 18s and would have to be paid for and ordered before I could see them ( they were in a ford parts catalog) I guess I will be talking to the dealer again. Thanks for the input

All wheels from 04-08 fit the 09-11's EXCEPT the 18" fx4 wheels. They do not clear the caliber properly. Some people have tried and have destroyed the inner wheel when driving. They have a thicker edge in them that hits the larger calipers on the newer trucks. All the other wheels fit though.

think the calipers changed in '10, because I remember a guy here trying to throw some '09 rims on his new '10 at the time & it pinches the caliper up to the rotor. he got spacers & solved the problem.
