I've got the Larson mount. Yes it's pricey, but it works
No leaks in 2 yrs.
The key to securing the mount is to alternate while tightening the 4 retaining screws--think how you tighten lugnuts.

True but it does allow you to route the antenna coax cable into the cab without having to drill any holes.

This. I run the same one, except the dual nmo variant. Before that, I used an aluminum stake mount on the bed rail. Both good options depending on how much height over the truck you have to work with.
