Default Catch Can in warmer climates?

I have read a lot about guys installing the catch cans that live in colder climates. Is it recommended for us that live in warmer climates? I live near LA and my truck sits outside, I probably drive my truck 5000 a year and maybe about 3-5 days a year of operation in temps below 40 degrees. It's a 2013 EB with 20k. I asked a service adviser at the dealership during my last oil change and the guy didn't even know what a catch can was...

I'm sure those that sell them will heavily recommend them, but they are not needed.
